<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the precision of collation decision and to keep sufficiently high principal permission rate and sufficiently high other person refusal rate in a personal identification device and a personal identification method for identifying an individual by collating biological information acquired from an individual with registered biological information. <P>SOLUTION: The history of the past collation decision is held as collation information, and a decision threshold as the reference of decision is determined each time the collation decision is performed based on the collation information, and the collation information is updated so that a decision threshold suitable for each biological information is set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
