PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transferring frame data which reduces use number of DDR-SDRAM chips used for data storage and which minimizes the number of unused I/O pins on the memory chips, a method of transferring the frame data to a source driver, and a timing control module.
SOLUTION: The DDR-SDRAM chips running at 1.5 clock rate are used for transferring image data from the image data source to the source driver in a display panel. In general, P DDR-SDRAM chips running at a 1.5 clock rate are used to store the frame data in N frames. If the frame date in each of the N frames is n bits and the memory space in the DDR-SDRAM chip is m, then P is an integer equal to or greater than N multiplied by (n/m). In data transfer in the frame, a line period is partitioned into N segments and each DDR-SDRAM chip is separated into (N-1) parts such that the parts are used to read different data in the different frames. In order to share the I/O pins when using a number of the DDR-SDRAM chips, the read/write sequence for the all DDR-SDRAM chips follows the same command and address.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
