PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a just enough charging method in the method of charging a lead-acid battery of a multi step constant current charging system, in which a final step charging time t<SB>n</SB>is defined by the non-linearly corrected value of an electrical discharge that is estimated from the first step electrical charge according to a temperature. SOLUTION: In the method of charging the lead-acid battery of the multi step constant current charging system, the final step charging time is defined by the final step charging time t<SB>n</SB>calculated from the equation t<SB>n</SB>=K×t<SB>1</SB>+t<SB>T</SB>, wherein K is an electrical discharge correction factor to become constant according to the multi step constant current charging system, t<SB>1</SB>is a first step charging time, t<SB>T</SB>is a temperature correction time corresponding to the battery temperature T of the lead-acid battery having a linear line or a curved line relation.
