PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack control method by which a fault of a charge control switch is determined more properly and accurately. SOLUTION: This battery pack control method is provided with a secondary battery 1, a control means 5 that controls the charge of the battery, and a charge controlling element 71 that controls the charging current by the control means 5. In spite of the off-control of the charge control element 71 by the control means 5, it is determined to be abnormal when a charging current is detected and a current equal to or larger than a first current value is detected during the period of a first detection time. It is determined to be abnormal when a current lower than the first current value is detected during the period of a second detection time longer than the first detection time.
