PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generating device for a dictionary that neither enters an unnecessary word nor excludes a necessary word from entries. SOLUTION: Data representative of a facility name with word separators is read out of a database stored with data representative of facility names with word separators, and an expanded word is generated by expanding the sectioned word based upon the read data. A morpheme analysis of the expanded word is taken, employment as a dictionary entry is decided based upon information on a part of speech and an attribute of the expanded word whose morphemes have been analyzed, and the expanded word is entered into the dictionary based upon the decision result.
