SOLUTION: The multicore plastic optical fiber cord 25 has plastic optical fibers (POF) 21a to 21h. POF 21a has a core part 45, a core clad part 46 and a coating layer 47a. The clad part 46 is disposed around the core part 45. The coating layer 47a is disposed around the clad part 46. POF 21b has the core part 45, the core clad part 46 and the coating layer 47b. The clad part 46 is disposed around the core part 45. The coating layer 47b is disposed around the clad part 46. Protrusions 51a to 53a are formed on the coating layer 47a on both end faces of POF 21a. Protrusions 51b to 53b are formed on the coating layer 47b in the vicinity of both end faces of POF 21b. The formed pitch of the protrusions 51a to 53a is different from that of the protrusions 51b to 53b. POF 21a and POF 21b are discriminated by the forming pitch of the protrusions.
