PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a work piece which has three or more projection portions, spaced apart from another along the circumferential direction in the inner circumference, to be centered and positioned with high accuracy, and to improve the operability of inserting the work piece into a jig and enable above positioning to be carried out, without damaging the work piece. SOLUTION: The positioning jig is equipped with a columnar jig 1 which has radial-direction positioning surfaces 2 and roll-off portions 3 disposed alternately along the circumferential direction on the outer circumference. The work piece 6 is inserted along the outer circumference of the columnar jig 1, from a position where the projection portions 7, such as teeth and the like, disposed on the work piece 6 correspond to the roll-off portions 3, and a wide space is assured between the projection portions 7 and the columnar jig 1. Then, the work piece 6 is rotated, until the projection portions 7 fit in the outer circumference of the radial-direction positioning surfaces 2 and is positioned by the radial-direction positioning surfaces 2.
