PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition control device of an internal combustion engine capable of securing the magnitude of the current flowing in an ignition plug in multiple discharge. SOLUTION: A battery 11, an energy accumulating coil 12, and an IGBT 13 are connected in series to each other. The energy accumulating coil 12, a diode 14, a primary side coil 21a, and an IGBT 22 are connected in series to each other. A capacitor 15 is connected to the energy accumulating coil 12 with the diode 14 interposed therebetween. The ignition plug and a resistor 24 for current detection are connected to a secondary side coil 21b. During the multiple discharge, an ignition control circuit 30 switches the on and off of the IGBT 13, 22 every time a secondary side current I2 detected by the resistor 23 for current detection reaches positive and negative discharge maintaining currents.
