PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem type image forming apparatus in which out of color registration is suppressed without arranging a special controller, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The tandem type image forming apparatus includes frame-side markers 31a, 31b, 31c and 31d to separately attach a plurality of OPC drums 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d while adjusting the rotating angle of each drum, wherein the frame-side markers 31a, 31b, 31c and 31d on the downstream side are formed in positions successively shifted in a direction opposite to the rotating direction C of the OPC drums 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d in accordance with each interval P between the plurality of OPC drums 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d. The plurality of OPC drums 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d each having a drum-side marker 16 formed on the same position of each drum so as to align with the frame-side markers 31a, 31b, 31c and 31d are separately attached to a frame 30 for holding the plurality of OPC drums 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d in a transfer order while aligning respective drum-side markers with the frame-side markers 31a, 31b, 31c and 31d.
