PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of a sealing container while maintaining its pressure resistance performance in a sealed motor-driven compressor using high pressure coolant gas and to provide the hermetic motor-driven compressor which is rational in terms of saving resource and energy. SOLUTION: In the sealed motor-driven compressor of this invention, a structuring member of the sealing container 1 applies a hollow structure and a reinforcement rib-like member 2a and the like are provided as a member of the hollow structure. As for the reinforcement rib-like member 2a and the like, panel members are aligned in an axial direction of the container along a circumference of the sealing container 1 in a case and a honey-comb structure is adopted in a case, as well as a corrugated sheet-like member is provided enclosing a circumference direction of the sealing container.
