摘要 The invention relates to a laser for producing a pulsed laser beam having a first wave length. Said laser comprises a resonator (1), a pumped active medium (4) which is arranged in the resonator (1) and which emits primary radiation of a second wave length, which is different from the first wave length, an element (7) which is arranged in the resonator (1) and which is used to produce a laser beam having a first wave length by frequency conversion of the primary radiation. Said resonator (1) can be switched between a first state, wherein it is open to the primary radiation, and a second state, wherein it is closed to the primary radiation, said resonator being open in both states for laser radiation of the first wave length. The laser also comprises a control unit (9) which, for producing a pulse of a laser beam, switches the resonator (1) from the first state to the second state in a first step, such that at least one resonator mode is vibrated for the primary radiation. The pulse generation based on the frequency conversion starts by means of the element (7), and in a second step which follows the first step, said control unit switches the resonator (1) from the second state into a first state, primary radiation is decoupled from the resonator (1) and pulses are no longer produced. The duration between both steps and/or the decoupling behaviour of the resonator (1) can be adjusted in order to control the duration of the pulse on the control unit.
