PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound superconductor, where a superconductor made of a compound superconductive material (Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn, Nb<SB>3</SB>Al, Bi-based superconductive material, Y-based superconductive material, MgB<SB>2</SB>-based superconductive material), or the like weak against mechanical strain in addition to an alloy superconductive material, such as NbTi, is coated with a metal material, such as aluminum. SOLUTION: The compound superconductor comprises: a superconductor; and a metal member, where at least one member or two members are joined for coating the superconductor and at least one of members is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. The metal member comprises a first member having a groove section, and a second member fitted to the upper portion of the groove section.
