PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method capable of producing a non-spherical resin particle by a simple process and inexpensively. SOLUTION: The preparation method of the resin particle comprises bringing an aqueous dispersion liquid (G), which is obtained by dispersing a resin particle (A) containing a resin (a) into an aqueous medium (C) using a nonionic surfactant (B) having a cloud point, to a temperature or above of the higher one of the cloud point of the nonionic surfactant (B) and the glass transition temperature of the resin (a) and obtaining an aqueous dispersion liquid (X) of a resin particle (D) which is formed by the addition of two or more of the resin particles (A).
