PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance work easiness and working efficiency of replenishment work when paper is replenished to a paper feeder for performing position control of a paper tray according to the previously specified replenishment number of sheets of paper. SOLUTION: The paper feeder for performing action for descending a paper loading means from an upper limit position to a position where the previously specified replenishment number of sheets of paper can be loaded in replenishment of the paper to the paper loading means and descending the paper loading means from the upper limit position to the position where the replenishment number of sheets of paper can be loaded each time when the sheets of paper are replenished by the replenishment number of sheets of paper is provided with: an operation means for inputting instruction of change of the replenishment number of sheets of paper; and a control means for descending the paper loading means from the upper limit position to the position where the replenishment number of sheets of paper according to the instruction can be loaded in replenishment of sheets of paper when the instruction is input to the operation means.
