A liquid crystal display enabling easy replacement of a light source while effectively preventing a defect such as deformation or impossibility of extraction and insertion of a member holding the light source, a light source holding body, a member light source insertion, and a backlight are provided. The liquid crystal display comprises a light source holding body and a backlight having a light source holding body and the member for light source insertion in which the light source holding body is inserted. The light source holding body and/or the member for light source insertion comprises a projecting part and they are brought into contact with each other at the projecting part.
