LOCATING A MOBILE TERMINAL WITH RESPECT TO A BUILDING

The invention concerns a device (DL) receiving N quantities (G₁ to G_N), in the form of power levels, measured between a mobile terminal (TM) and N base stations (B_J) at K times. At each of said K times, the N quantities are sequenced in order to extract a best quantity and one of the N quantities. Based on the knowledge that the mobile terminal is inside or outside the building (BU) two probability densities of said one quantity are estimated based on the best quantity. A ratio is determined between the product of the probability densities at all times based on the knowledge that the mobile terminal is inside the building over the product of the probability densities at all times based on the knowledge that the mobile terminal is outside. The result is compared to a threshold to locate the mobile terminal inside or outside the building when the ratio is lower or higher than the threshold.
