A positioning system for backing a utility vehicle onto a loading ramp has tubular slide blocks (24, 26) mounted under the rear ends of the longditudinal chassis members (12, 14) to engage guide tracks to position the vehicle laterally and vertically onto the loading ramp. The hollow construction slide blocks have a rectangular cross section with rounded edges and with the bottom faces of the blocks with a slide cladding (38). The other faces of the slide blocks have round or elliptical apertures.
