<p>The roof rack foot clamps a roof rack to the edge part or the roof strip of a vehicle and includes a foot plate fo rlocation against a vehicle roof. It has a downwardly directed grip edge for engagement around one side of the vehicle edge part or roof strip, a clamp jaw and a tightening component which impels the clamp jaw against the edge part or roof strip other side, so that the roof rack foot is calmped firmly to the edge part between the clamp jaw and the foot plate grip edge. The tightening componetn incorporates a link mechanism with at least one link including an at least partly sprung component capable of tensioning the clamp jaw. The sprung component absorbs any occurring tolerances in the vehicle edge part or roof strip and the sprung component is fixed in the tensioned position.</p> |
