A system for sharing subscriber authentication in different mobile communication networks and a method thereof are provided to enable a subscriber authentication server of one mobile communication network to use a subscriber authentication server of other mobile communication network as a backup purpose or vice versa if necessary. A system for sharing subscriber authentication in different mobile communication networks comprises the first mobile communication network(110), the second mobile communication network(120), an HLR(Home Location Register)(130), the first authentication server(140) and the second authentication server(150). The first mobile communication network transmits or receives signals to or from the first subscriber. The second mobile communication network, whose kind is different from the kind of the first mobile communication network, transmits or receives signals to or from the second subscriber. The HLR receives signals from the first switch of the first mobile communication network or the second switch of the second mobile communication network, and processes information on subscribers. The first authentication server receives information on the first subscriber of the first mobile communication network or the second subscriber of the second mobile communication network, authenticates the information on the first subscriber as a main or the information on the second subscriber as an assistant. The second authentication server receives information on the second subscriber of the second mobile communication network or the first subscriber of the first mobile communication network and authenticates the information on the second subscriber as a main or the information on the first subscriber as an assistant.
