A method for checking an alarm time of a mobile terminal is provided to prevent degradation of a processing speed of a terminal by simplifying a process for checking an alarm time. In a state that an alarm is set at a particular time, a time offset is set(S201,S202). An alarm time checking module checks whether the time offset value is greater than zero(S203). When the time offset value is greater than zero, the alarm time checking module performs a process of subtracting one from the time offset value each time(S204) and checks whether the time offset value is smaller than 120, a reference value(S205). When the time offset value is smaller than 120, the alarm time checking module compares the alarm time and the current time(S206,S207). When the alarm time and the current time are identical, an alarm sound source is outputted through a speaker and the time offset value is initialized as 0(S209).
