The device has a rigid enclosure (2) enclosing a support (1) permitting hooking a shell e.g. bivalve. The enclosure is formed of assemblable modules (3) that are singleblocks obtained by molding a plastic material. The modules are provided as a cylindrical cage that is largely opened. The cage is formed from a set of posts connected with each other by peripheral rings that are formed of head, median and base rings. The modules comprise flexible radial bars engaged on a top ring. Free ends of the bars are supported against the support for centering the enclosure around the support.
