A method for detecting unbalance of a drum washer is provided to perform clothes unfolding by accurately detecting unbalance and minimize vibration and noise during a high spin drying. A method for detecting unbalance of a drum washer includes the steps of: performing a clothes unfolding operation inside of a drum by a stirring operation(S10); controlling a motor to keep a regular speed of the drum during a predetermined time(S12); detecting a deviation of a pulse width of an FG(Frequency Generator) signal which is output from the motor by supplying the drum with a regular power(S16); and repeating a detection for the deviation of the pulse width of the FG signal and determining the unbalance by comparing an average value of the deviation of the pulse width of the FG signal with a standard value(S22). |
