PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller where the output format of color difference value is selected, depending on the size of a patch icon and the correspondence of the patch icon and the color difference value can be made readily identifiable, and to provide a display control method. SOLUTION: The display control method comprises a step for displaying a plurality of color difference values, calculated from first and second data groups concerning the spectral reflectance characteristics as a plurality of patch icons, and a step for numerically indicating the color difference value of each patch icon inside the display region of the patch icon in a first display format or an independent second display format.
