<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily select an image-to-be-printed from a memory card with many stored images in a direct printer. <P>SOLUTION: Options of the image-to-be-printed are narrowed down by designating a date (e. g. shooting date and time). In this case, some display modes are prepared to assist the designation of the date. In the calendar display mode, a calendar is displayed; and a first image (thumbnail image) photographed on the corresponding date, and the number of images photographed on the corresponding date are displayed in the position of the date of the calendar. In the bar chart display mode, the number of the images photographed on each date is displayed by using a bar chart.
