The antenna (1) has a magnetic core (2) surrounded by the coil winding (3). An antenna housing (4) partially retains the magnetic core and the coil winding, and a soft sealing material (5) is inserted into the antenna housing. The magnetic core is formed from a ferrite ceramics e.g. manganese zinc ferrite, nickel zinc ferrite and has an electrically isolated surface. An INDEPENDENT claim is also included for a method for the production of an antenna.
