PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connecting device which prevents insertion in reverse insertion posture, facilitates checking of insertion in reverse insertion posture, and enables prompt checking work of insertion posture. SOLUTION: A connecting terminal 11 is provided with an upper half portion 16 in which a locking piece 18 to lock with a housing element 12 at the time of regular insertion posture is provided and a lower half portion 17 which is located on the opposite side and has a wider width than that of the locking piece 18. The housing element 12 is provided with a locking part 21 to lock with the locking piece 18 in the regular insertion posture, a first groove 22 continuing with the opening part of an terminal insertion hole 14, and a second groove 23 to continue with the first groove 22. The first groove 22 is provided in a width that allows passing of the lower half portion 17 in the reverse insertion posture. The second groove 23 is provided in a width that allows passing of the locking piece 18 in regular insertion posture and interferes with the lower half portion 17 in reverse insertion posture.
