PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner in which the variation of a scanning line is easily corrected even when environment changes and a high quality image having no color shift and color change is formed, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the optical scanner. SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes: a light source unit 1 which emits a scanning light beam (B); an imaging optical system 2 which scans the light beam (B) emitted from the light source unit 1 and focuses the light beam on a face to be scanned; a light beam scanning position detection means 3 which detects the scanning position of the light beam (B) which the imaging optical system 2 focuses on the face to be scanned; a light beam scanning position correcting means 4 which corrects the scanning position of the light beam (B) focused on the face to be scanned; and a detected value correcting means 5 which corrects the detected value of the light beam (B) focused on the face to be scanned according to the environmental change.
