PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system which is an independently operating type with high practicality. SOLUTION: The steering system is provided with a pair of operating members 14 which are independently operable with each other, and controls a steering device to allow the steering amount of a wheel to correspond to respective operating amounts of the pair of the operating members 14. A fluctuation in the operating amount of one operating member is limited in a state that one of the pair of the operating members 14 is not operated. Concretely, a handle 14L on the left side is held in a releasing point by controlling the motor 60L of a device 70L for imparting force in a track direction which imparts the force to the handle 14L on the left along its track with the handle 14L on the left side released. According to the system, the fluctuation in target steering amount of the wheel due to a positional fluctuation of the operating member 14 with one hand released from one of the pair of the operating members 14 during steering is suppressed.
