PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus with which proper silver color can be output, a wiring pattern causing no faulty conduction can be formed with high resolution, and even a complicated electric circuit pattern can be formed faithfully and easily. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes at least an electrostatic latent image forming step, a developing step, a dispersion medium removing step, a transfer step and a fixing step wherein a toner used contains at least metal particles, a resin and a dispersion medium, a recording medium used has an Ohken system smoothness of 140-30,000 seconds and volume resistivity of 1×109-1×1014Ωcm, based on JIS K6911, and isododecane penetrates into the recording medium in an amount of 3.0-50 ml/m2by the Bristow method.
