PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of individually projecting a plurality of images to a plurality of different screens with high degrees of freedom. SOLUTION: First image light IL1 is projected onto the screen SC by a first optical modulation part 50 and a first projection optical system 81, and a second image light IL2 is projected onto the screen SC by a second optical modulation part 70 and a second projection optical system 82. Since the first and the second optical modulation parts 50 and 70 which are separate systems, are switched to be made to operate in a time-division manner under the control of a host controller 100, the first image light IL1 from the first optical modulation part 50 and the second image light IL2 from the second optical modulation part 70 are respectively, independently projected onto the screen SC in collective manner.
