PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a riding type lawn mower that can intercept the power transmission to the mowing device, when the mowing device is positioned to the rising position, without operation of the PTO switch member for manually operating the connecting and detaching of the PTO clutch mechanism. SOLUTION: This riding type lawn mower 100 is constituted by arranging a mowing unit 400 to which the motive power is transmitted from the primary drive 2 through PTO clutch mechanism 730 to the vehicle frames so that it is made liftable and sinkable with the lifting actuator 150 so as to move up and down to the vehicle frames 1, 1. Thus, the riding type lawn mower has the manual switching function that is carried out using the PTO switching operation member 19 that can do the connection and detachment of the PTO clutch mechanism 730, and the power forcibly intercepting function that can forcibly intercept the motive power by forcibly intercepting the motive power of the PTO clutch mechanism, when the mowing unit 400 is positioned at the rise up position, regardless of attaching or detaching of the PTO clutch mechanism 730 caused by manual switching function.
