PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comparatively easily photograph a planar object while focusing on the whole object in imaging the planar object. SOLUTION: Image data output from an imaging means is displayed on the display screen of an imaging apparatus. Whether or not the center part of the object image displayed on the display screen is focused is judged, and also, whether or not three peripheral parts other than the center part not lying on the same straight line are focused is judged. In a situation that an automatic photographing mode is set, the image data output from the imaging means is recorded in an image recording memory card in accordance with the effect that the center part and the three peripheral parts are focused.
