URANIUM ALUMINIDE NUCLEAR FUEL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

A uranium aluminide nuclear fuel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain the high purity nuclear fuel at a low temperature by preventing vapors due to a nuclear reaction gas during a nuclear reaction process. A uranium metal powder and an aluminum metal powder are provided(S100). The uranium metal powder and the aluminum metal powder are mixed with each other(S200), and the mixed metal power is pressurized, so that a pressurized metal powder is formed(S300). The pressurized metal powder is extruded at a high temperature(S400), so that an aluminum based extruded material is formed. Uranium is dispersed in the aluminum based extruded material. The aluminum based extruded material with the dispersed uranium is thermal-treated to form UA12 uranium aluminide nuclear fuel(S500).
