<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high light utilizing efficiency by preventing loss of light due to a light shielding film between pixels and loss of light due to the uptake angle of a projection lens without reducing the quantity of light made incident from a light source, in a liquid crystal device wherein narrowing of pitch is advanced. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device has a plurality of light condensing elements 33 condensing light made incident on a liquid crystal toward a center side of a pixel 250. The light condensing element 33 has a plurality of light condensing regions 33A and 33B having a center as an optical axis AX of light made incident on the center of the pixel 25. In the plurality of light condensing regions 33A and 33B, an angle formed by light condensed in the light condensing region 33A close to the optical axis AX and the optical axis AX is larger than an angle formed by light condensed in the light condensing region 33B farther from the optical axis AX than the light condensing region 33A and the optical axis AX. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
