A device and a method for simulating an image formation process are provided to check whether defect generated by a memory size of an image forming device is generated before printing data. An input part(11) receives image data to be processed in the image forming device. A simulator(12) simulates the image forming process of the image data in the image forming device by using the image data. A memory manager(14) compares the needed memory size with the secured memory size by monitoring the memory size required for the image forming process from simulation while securing the secured memory size required for the image forming process before the simulation. An output part(13) outputs information for a comparison result. The memory manager determines the memory size to be secured based on the memory size required for the image forming process of the simulation.
