<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically efficient method for leaching copper from copper sulfide ore including brass ore with the low use amount of sulfuric acid, in an increased leaching speed and in high leaching ratio. <P>SOLUTION: In the method where copper sulfide ore including brass ore is leached from copper, the copper sulfide ore is mixed with a fixed carbon-containing material by an amount of 0.1 to 2.0 times to the whole weight of the copper mineral in the copper sulfide ore, thereafter, the obtained mixture is dipped into an iron sulfate aqueous solution in which the concentration of iron is controlled to 1 to 20 g/L and pH is controlled to 2.6 to 3.5.
