PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device capable of correcting map data by tracing a road of a road map displayed on a display monitor. SOLUTION: A map screen 70 of the proximity of the route where a vehicle actually travels differing from a recommended route 42 is displayed. A corrected route 71 of the map data is made to input in hand drawing with reference to the recommended route 42. Next, it is determined whether the corrected route 71 violates traffic regulation. When the corrected route 71 does not violate the traffic regulation, the map data is changed based on the corrected route 71. A node is formed at the intersection of the corrected route 71 and a link, and the link is divided following the formation of the node. When there are two or more newly formed nodes and the nodes are interconnected through the corrected route 71, a link is formed between the interconnected nodes.
