METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF FIBROUS POROUS SILICA PARTICLE, AND THE FIBROUS POROUS SILICA PARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of producing a fibrous porous silica particle having a pore size of≥8 nm without using an additive such as a fluoride. SOLUTION: The production method comprises: mixing an aqueous alkali silicate solution with a liquid mixture of an acidic aqueous solution and a nonionic surfactant while agitating under the temperature condition of 30 to <50°C; continuing agitation at the temperature as it is to confirm white turbidity in a reaction solution after the lapse of a definite time; then heating a reaction vessel as it is or a reactor which is kept at a definite temperature and has the reaction vessel transferred thereto at a certain temperature of 50-200°C; and aging by leaving at rest or agitating for a given period of time to remove the nonionic surfactant in the obtained fibrous particle.
