The holder opens longitudinally to accept a roll of paper (4), which held at the ends (6). The holder closes to support the roll. A rest (3) is located below the roll. Supports (9) are provided in the holder; these include sections assisting introduction (10). The novel design feature, is that the tips of the sections assisting introduction, lie outside the axis of rotation (27).
