PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment magnet rotor fixing structure where a plurality of segment magnets are positioned to be uniformly arranged, and dislocation after fitting is prevented, and also to provide a rotary machine. SOLUTION: In the segment magnet rotor fixing structure, the segment magnets 20 are engaged between adjacent magnet position decision projections 41 and 41 formed in a shaft installation ring 40. Thus, a plurality of the segment magnets 20 are positioned so that they are uniformly arranged. Dislocation of the segment magnets 20 after fitting is thereby prevented. Since the shaft installation ring 40 is vertically divided into two, it is easily fitted to a ring engagement part 31 of a structure where a peripheral face of a rotor shaft 16 is depressed in a groove shape.
