The profile calibrating surfaces(5) have transverse slits(6) for vacuum application to a profile. Individual slits extend through the die body(1) transverse to the direction of profile movement(2). A detachable cover(12) closes the outer ends of the slits on the outside of the die body. Vacuum slits(6) are widened transverse to profile movement (2)at their mouths(7) inside the die. A guide shoulder is provided for a cleaning tool. The die(1) is divided transverse to the profile direction into longitudinal sections(14) which extend between the slits. Each slit is formed by a recess in the end face of one of two adjacent die sections. A flat end face on the adjacent die section covers the recess. Cooling channels(17) run through the longitudinal die sections close to the calibrating surfaces(5) and are connected by channels to feed and take-off bores(19,20) outside the area of the slits. Covers(12) for the outer ends of vacuum slits are made of flexible magnetic foil on the outside of the die. Each cover covers several vacuum slits and has cuts(13) which start from one edge and extend between the slits. |
