A device for improving system driving speed in a mobile communication terminal equipped with plural chips and a method are provided to conduct power supply in a memory for an application program irrespective of power supply of an overall system, thereby improving the speed of overall system driving as saving time in accordance with application program driving by partially conducting error detection. Object codes equivalent to application programs are downloaded to a separate memory for receiving power from a backup battery comprised by being distinguished from power supply of an overall system, from a system memory including overall system codes of a mobile communication terminal(400,410). Error detection is carried out in determined error detection size for the stored object codes. If error generation is sensed, object codes from which errors are generated are downloaded again.
