A marine mobile communication repeater and a control method thereof are provided to offer better services to subscribers by processing signals of generic BSs(Base Stations) at the same time and extending an in-service area. A marine mobile communication repeater comprises the first duplexer(200), a forward frequency shift signal relay unit(20), a forward BS signal relay unit(400), the second duplexer(218), a reverse frequency shift signal relay unit(30), and a reverse BS signal relay unit(500). The first duplexer(200) filters a forward signal received through an antenna from the first or second BS or a reverse signal to be transmitted to the first or second BS through the antenna. The forward frequency shift signal relay unit(20) converts the first frequency of the forward signal, received from the first BS and filtered through the first duplexer(200), into the second frequency and amplifies the second frequency signal. The forward BS signal relay unit(400), driven according to strength of the forward signal having the second frequency, received from the second BS and filtered through the first duplexer(200), amplifies an input signal. The second duplexer(218) sends the second frequency signal, amplified through the forward BS signal relay unit(400), through the antenna or filters the second frequency signal, received to the antenna from a mobile terminal. The reverse frequency shift signal relay unit(30) converts the frequency of a signal filtered through the second duplexer(218) into the first frequency, amplifies the first frequency signal, and outputs it to the antenna through the first duplexer(200). The reverse base station signal relay unit(500) amplifies a signal filtered through the second duplexer(218) and outputs the amplified signal to the antenna through the first duplexer(200). |
