A roller for a running-gear mechanism or for a roller battery in a cableway system, having a roller body (1) which is designed with a central bore in which a bearing (2) is located, the roller being provided with two flanged disks (5) between which a more or less non-elastically deformable, annular support (4) for a cable of the cableway system is located, it being the case that at least one of the flanged disks (5) is fastened releasably on the roller body (1) in that the outer circumferential surface of the roller body (1) is designed, in the region of the abutting end surface of said roller body, with at least one encircling groove (12) for a spring ring (7) or the like. In this case, a resilient insert (6) is arranged between the support (4) and at least one of the flanged disks (5) (Fig. 1).
