A power-saving method in a hybrid terminal and a device therefor are provided to enable a 1xEVDO(Evolution Data Only) unit to be operated independently of a 1xCDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) unit, thereby compensating power loss. When power is supplied, a state of a communication network access mode is set to a 1xinitialization/1xEVDO deny state, and if a CDMA2000 1xcommunication network is sensed, a 1xidle/1xEVDO initialization state is moved(10). If a CDMA2000 1xcommunication network is not sensed in the 1xidle/1xEVDO initialization state, a state of the communication network access mode is moved to a 1xinitialization/1xEVDO initialization state(20). If the CDMA2000 1xcommunication network is sensed in the 1xinitialization/1xEVDO initialization state, a 1xidle/1xEVDO initialization state is moved(30). If a 1xEVDO communication network is sensed in the 1xidle/1xEVDO initialization state, a 1xidle/1xEVDO idle state is moved(40). |
