A drive of round-knitting machine has electric motor, V-belt transmission with drive pulley rigidly installed on the shaft of electric motor, toothed gearing with drive pinion installed on the shaft of driven pulley of V-belt transmission, vertical drive shaft and flywheel. On the vertical drive shaft toothed wheel of toothed gearing is installed, and at its ends cylindrical pinions for kinematic connection to mechanisms of round-knitting machine are installed. The flywheel is by means of electromagnetic friction clutch connected to shaft of electric motor and has mechanism of change of moment of inertia of the flywheel that is kinematically connected to the last one.
