摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cost-effective and long-service-life excitation device of synchronous machine, by devising the structure of a field circuit without providing a field circuit breaker that breaks a large DC current. <P>SOLUTION: The excitation device is provided with a thyristor rectifier 5 that excites the field winding 3 of the synchronous machine 1, a power source 10 other than the output circuit of the synchronous machine connected to the AC input terminals of the thyristor rectifier via an excitation transformer 7 and an excitation AC circuit breaker 8, a discharge resistor 4 connected in series between the field winding and the thyristor rectifier, and a discharge resistor short-circuit switch 6 connected in parallel to the discharge resistor to open and close across the terminals of the discharge resistor. In the case of an ordinary stop of the synchronous machine, energy accumulated in the field winding is discharged through thyristor arms by opening the excitation AC circuit breaker 8 and by igniting a plurality of the thyristor arms all at once. In the case of an emergency stop of the synchronous machine, energy accumulated in the field winding 3 is discharged through the discharge resistor and the thyristor arms by opening the excitation AC circuit breaker 8, by igniting a plurality of the thyristor arms all at once, and by opening the discharge resistor short-circuit switch 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p>
