The aid has a handle (2) that is guided with brakes by a slotted pipe (1), where the pipe is provided at a stair wall or in a stair handrail. The handle is connected with two rolling hemispheres (4) in the pipe. Braking plates (3, 5) are provided at a lower part of the handle and are attached, so that the plates are braked in two directions. A wheel (6) is attached at the lower part of the handle, and openings are provided at the ends of the pipe, so that the handle is replaced.
