The valve (1) comprises a closing element (4) preloaded against the valve seat (5) and a compression chamber (58) opening towards the operating attachment (B). The diameter of the opening is defined by the outer edge (62) of the sliding element (4). The unit is equipped with a dampening arrangement (70,74) acting in both directions of the closing element (4). The cushioning volumes (70,74) can be hydraulically connected to the compression chamber (58).
