PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed changing controler which can execute exact speed changing control by effectively utilizing the dead zone of a toroidal type continuous transmission. SOLUTION: The speed changing controller of the toroidal type continuous transmission executes the speed changing control as follows. Power rollers rotatably held by means of holding members are pinched between input disks and output disks. The power rollers are tilted by being displaced together with the holding members in order to change the speed. The displacement of the power rollers detected by a detector for detecting the displacement from a neutral point, where the tilting does not occur, via the holding members is corrected according to the shift of the neutral point. The speed changing controller comprises a neutral point correcting means B3 for setting the correcting amountαfor the measured value of the detector at least to a value corresponding to the speed changing ratio within the dead zone where the tilting does not occur even when a control command for stroking the power rollers has been output.
